So, I remember the last time we were playing the beta, it was brought up that we really sucked at character names. Of course, who wants to put a bunch of work into a good name during the beta?

Well, it won't be long now before the actual game is out, so we need names!

GW2 is only allowing for 19 character names, including spaces.

I was talking to Amara and Nemisari already, and I figure I have a good one for my human engie. He was going to be from noble decent as part of his background so I was going to name him Vladimere LeStrouce.

I was also thinking Jonas Quinn since I can't use my original idea, but I have a feeling that will already be reserved by the time I log in. :-P

If I don't go with human, I'm likely to go with an Asuran Engie. I actually looked up their naming conventions. They usually have strong sounding, short names that are only made up of one or two syllables. Often they'll have two of the same letter one after the other, but it's not a rule.  Females end in an "i" or "a" sound, while the males end in a consonant. They also rarely take on a "last name" like the humans, but rather use a job title, honorifics, or krewe title on their name to individualize themselves.

If I go with an Asuran, I was thinking either Technomancer KiiK or Ys the Enlightened (pronounced "ease").

Thoughts? I figure it's at least a little better than my beta name "Dingleman"....
